Spot on.
"When Saturday comes" and all that, the Boys in Royal Blue march out onto whatever pitch it is, wherever it is, and the whistle blows there is a game to watch and fun to had.
Must be a while since the League Cup holders came on a Royal Blue visit to lots of next years destinations?
See you all there

While it hurts at the moment, although not as bad as I'd anticipated, there's a light at the end of the tunnel as far as I'm concerned. We've gone down with an ageing sqaud and a lot of players in the last year of their contracts.....relegation, while hard to take and financially crippling, is not the end and could actually benefit us in the long run! the amount in saved wages of players leaving possibly runs into 250K+ per week!
Now is the time for us to create a team based on a healthy mixture of youth and experience, not just experience with no pace......now is the time to say to players like Mutch, Asante & redmond "show me that the clubs future lies with you", we should be able to reatain enough experience to guide them through and, assuming we get promoted first time around, they'll have had a years grounding and with the required additions for another premiership campaign they'll be ready for it.
In all honesty relegation may actually have done us some good in terms of the long term future of the club...important thing now is to keep the likes of as many of the 'quality' players as possible...if we can keep the nucleus together we'll be able to get back into the prem a quicker, stronger and better equiped squad than we had when we went up two seasons ago!
At this point in terms it's just a disapointment, certainly not a disaster, not getting promoted next season will be more of a disaster. We have the defensive capabilities lets now add to that and blow this division away next year!

so were relegated again, could you have done anything about it.... no , nor me once again the royal blue roller coasters hit a dip , i dont care im still gonna support them next season. if you think following the blues is all glory i got a reality check for you get used to it cause just when you think you've turned a corner KABOOM and thats the way its always been, it dont matter about your level of support or where you get to watch em birmingham city football clubs in your heart and pumping thru your veins its all the love you could ever want, and the reason why were all getting at each others because this time it really hurts, that roller coaster took one hell of a dive this time but we hit the top and all the reals turned jackpot and we got our big prize. take this as a lesson learn from it and get stronger dissapointment yeah so what look on the bright side we you could have 16 toes 19 fingers and be married to your mother just like them lot of glory hunters. how about giving your fellow noses a break on here and stop all the bickering it just adds to the disappointment. k.r.o ---------------well siad - hit the nail on the head KRO :blues:

As I'm still only 19, I'm used to seeing Blues in the Premier League, I started supporting in 00/01 and since then we have spent 7 out of 11 seasons as a Premier League team.
But even I know that being a Blues fan is about the highs and the lows, its in our club song "They'll be joys and sorrows to" its the excitement of being a Bluenose. I wouldn't have it any other way, I would hate to support a Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea ETC - I'd rather not be involved with football.
Its way too plastic and what does beating Fulham 2-0 at home mean to a Man Utd fan whose watching it on TV. Absolutely nothing. Whereas if we beat Fulham 2-0, I'd be over the moon. All Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal fans are going to be worrying about over the summer is what superstars they can bring in, or what superstar they might lose to Barcelona or Real Madrid this year. Boring.
I don't buy into the whole "The Premier League is the place to be." Wolves, Wigan and Blackburn might have been celebrating like mad on Sunday whilst we were devastated, but its the same again for them next season. A long relegation dogfight slog, which I'm convinced will see one maybe two of them coming down.
There is only 4-5 teams that are ever going to win that league, and the bottom half of teams especially QPR, Norwich, Blackburn, Wolves, Wigan and West Brom will be grateful just to stay up, whilst the likes of Newcastle, Fulham, Bolton and Sunderland, what are they going to contribute? Other than to make up the numbers, and again, probably just happy to survive.
A few years ago teams like Villa and Everton looked like they could be the ones to crack the top four. But that has no chance of happening now. Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and to an extent Liverpool and Spurs might as well be in there own league. yes there have been upsets this season, but I think it was a one off.
Whilst if everything goes to plan, we could be watching some better football, watching Blues score a few more goals, watching some younger players come through and ultimately enjoying the taste of victory probably more than Wigan, Wolves and Blackburn fans put together.
We will be going into away games against the likes of Bristol City and Ipswich looking to create plenty of chances and score goals, and ultimately to win. Whilst Blackburn for example will be sticking 11 men behind the ball and trying to cling on for a 0-0 away at Sunderland.
Obviously I wish it was us who'd have stayed up Sunday, and I think I'd still take med table mediocrity and "making up the numbers" in the Premier League and you might think this is just me trying to comfort myself over the relegation and justify it as being a good thing, but I've been watching football and supporting Blues long enough to know football is full of ups and downs, its part and parcel of it. There's every chance Wolves and Wigan fans might be the ones crying on TV this time next season whilst we are celebrating passing them by on our way back to the Premier League.
Superb kid **thumbup You've put into writing everything that's been going around in my head.
